Manufacturer/supplier of a Sawframe with tensioner

Anyone in Orchid Land use a saw frame with a tensioner? Saw one, somewhere online??? and can’t locate where or who was using it. Curious if anyone here has used one/owns one/likes it?

Knew Concepts saws have a type of tension adjuster…Rob

The Knew Concepts saws have a lever tension adjustor - originally a screw - that is really a game changer for sawing. You can get a perfect tension, opt to release it, all without pressing into your sternum.
The kc frames require a bit of getting used to - particularly for holding the blade. Since the blade is held in a hole rather than between two pieces of metal, often metal filings get in the hole and make it hard to hold the blade firmly. The very simple action it to invert the frame and tap it, filings fall out, and the world is back to functioning properly. These frames hold saw blades much better than conventional ones and actually provide the highest possible tension of any frame.
They can also easily be changed for right or left hand use. I’m a fan…

Judy…I have a KC saw because, of course, I had to have one and have used it a lot, but my go to is my Green Lion frame…Rob

I second that Judy - once you get your tension right the saw is absolutely brilliant.
Knew Concepts Brian meek does a great little trouble shooting video for the saw - he suggests using canned air to blow the hole free of saw dust / lemel.

I’ve had one of the Knew Concepts saws with screw tension for probably 8 or 9 years and it’s very nice! Whenever I use my old german style frame (usually for wax blades or an unusually aggressive blade) I really appreciate the ease of popping them in and out.

I saw a lot of 16 gauge steel for pancake dies and also very small detailed pieces in silver. The KC saw is a great saw, but it seems to get in the way of my working on these small pieces. I also have very little clearance once I open my catch tray and the KC handle hits the top of the tray. This has nothing to do with the saw, just my work setting…ob

Well. A saw frame is a saw frame is a saw frame. I find some of them a bit more easier to use. Forgive me please, but you adjust a saw blade tension by …ummm … holding it to your chest and pushing a bit till you get the “twing” you want. Just saying. I have an embarrassing collection of saw frames. I do have the knew concepts frame. I guess it is ok. It’s kinda fickle. Sometimes kinda nice for thin blades for delicate work. I have the c frame thingie … a really great frame by someone I forget. I have a lot of old as dirt European type frames. Forgive me, but it’s not about the frame, it’s about the person who is sawing. You totally can not ever convince me there is anything advantage with a fancy adjustable saw frame over and plain old quality saw frame. So totally can adjust it ya know. I keep several with different blades. Don’t use the knew concepts at all. I’m kinda a gear geek. Fiddle with it (and others) all you wish. Buy a couple of good saw frames and learn to make them sing like you need them to. Just saying.
