Making your own gold solder

Does anyone else buy gold solder alloy and make your own solder?
Swest sold the alloy a few years ago, but has discontinued it. This
is a very economical alternative to buying solder if you have the
refined gold on hand. Any comments or sources of alloy??

Hi, Steve:

14k gold solder
2.0g  14kt gold
0.5g  fine silver

This is a simple gold solder. I have other formulas, but alas they
use cadmium.
