Making a harder than sterling silver alloy

I have yet to experiment with silver alloys with lower than 925 to
see if they are more resistant to wear. I am not concerned with the
higher tarnishing that will occur. Anybody have any experience with
this for jewelry, paticularly casting.

Hi Jay,

re silver alloys resistant to wear.

Canadian half dollars and quarters used to be made with 80% silver
and 20% Cu. That might be an indirect indication of hardness. I’ve
rolled out a fifty cent piece and had to take small steps to do so.
