Lowering 24K gold to 18K gold

i want to know how much alloy do i add to 24k gold to get 18k and
14k gold respectively.

thank u. Patrick from Ghana.

i want to know how much alloy do i add to 24k gold to get 18k and
14k gold respectively.

For 18k, take 18 parts, by weight, of 24k gold and add 6 parts, by
weight, of other metals. For example, 18gms 24k gold plus 6gms other
metals will make 18k gold. For 14k, take 14 parts 24k gold and add
10 parts of other metals.

Hi

There are different ways to do this but this one works well. Okay
take your weight of 24kt and multiply by 1.333333333333. Subtract the
weight of your 24kt and you will have your alloy weight.

Example 10.0 grams 24k * 1.3333333333 Thats 13.3333333 less the ten
shows us you need 3.33333333333 alloy. For mathematical proof,
multiply 13.33333333333 *.75 and you see 9.99999999999 24kt. Your
starting weight of 24kt.

for alloying the gold and also lowering and raising the karat of
gold.
