Lost Stones(Yak)

Hello Lisa: I flipped a 25pt. Diamond from my bench awhile back.
Now usually I freeze and listen intently in hopes that a tel-tale
clink or clack will reveal the landing place.I heard nothing due
to a loud co-worker. I searched for 30 minutes.Then 30 minutes
more. I cleaned and moved and swept and cussed and reswept.I did
my old watchmakers trick and lay my cheek on the floor to look
across the floor. It was nowhere. Now,my boss did not want to give
me another diamond even though the amount of time I was spending
looking was closely approaching the break even point. I gave it
one more try.I picked up a “Stevie Ray Vaughn” cassette tape that
I had sitting near my bench and guess what fell out of the tape.

Hey, I had a similar experience when a co-worker had a part flip
off his bench. We looked all over for the darned thing with no
luck so we started over again. Still no luck. Then we tried to
reconstruct what had happened. When I asked where he had heard
the tell-tale “click” he answered that he hadn’t heard anything.
That was the clue !!! We found the part inside an umbrella
hanging on a hook.

What I find helpful for finding things on the floor is not to
put my cheek down there, but to place my flashlight on the floor
and move it around until an unexpected shadow appears.

Look in the places that you know they just could not have gone.
I’ve blamed every thing from spirits to spooks.
