[Looking for] Silver Leaf

Hello - I am looking for a source to buy silver, copper, and gold
leaf/foil to use in glass beads and fused glass kiln work. I need
the kind of leaf that won’t burn up and disappear when heated at
these hot temperatures. I was told that the stuff one might see in a
craft store was the kind that disappears. Also, any tips one has for
me that’s used it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.

I’m not a glass person but gold and silver leaf can be had from
enameling supply houses. Enamelists use it underneath transparent
enamels to control the color.

Hi! What you want is silver, gold or copper foil. You can find
silver and gold foil at most enamelling supply companies. Thompson
Enamels and Allcraft both carry them. I don’t have the phone #'s
handy right now, but I’ll check it out a little later! --Vicki Embrey

Enamelists use silver and gold foils; they are available from Thompson
Enamels as well as from other enamel suppliers. They are thick enough
to move around with a small brush or tweezers and survive temperatures
of at least 1450 degrees F. Donna in VA

There is a company in Manhattan called Sepp Leaf. I can’t find their
number but I’m sure they’re listed. They carry metal leaf of all
kinds. Give them a try.
