Hello Orchidland, Well, I’ve come up against a wall and I think a
laser is going to be necessary. I’ve checked with the bench people
locally and no one tells me there are laser services available. Are
there any Orchidians in Kansas with access to a laser?
Here’s the situation: An obviously cracked 5x3mm marquis diamond
mounted in the head was knocked off the ring. (The peg on the head
broke off - I suspect the diamond crack came from the force
necessary to do that.) The customer doesn’t want to replace the
diamond and would like the head set down in the mounting so that it
is less exposed!! Seems like a good laser project.
Back-up plan if the diamond comes to pieces - the customer would buy
a sapphire replacement.
I’d love to have someone nearby to whom I can refer such customers!
Judy in Kansas, hoping to hear from someone soon.
