As part of the warranty we offer on our work we guarantee against
loss of stones as long as the customer brings in the pieces for a
six month cleaning and checking of the settings. As my customer base
has expanded, and because I live in a somewhat transient area and
many of my customers move away, I have been getting a larger and
larger number of inquiries from customers who no longer live nearby
wanting to know what they can do about maintaining the warranty. I
have no problem with other jewelers cleaning and checking the pieces
but I don’t know who to send people to often. So I am looking to
compile a list of jewelers outside of the general Boston area to whom
I could refer customers to, who would be willing to state that they
have cleaned and checked the settings. What’s in it for you??? The
first thing is that you should charge for the service. The second
thing is that it will bring customers into your store who have
already expressed an interest in a handmade product by buying
