Hi Mr. Grunewald; I have as a belljar a heavy desecator which was
used in a chemestry lab . It is heavy walled with a ground glass
lip . app. 14" dia. You might consider that if you can find a
heavy waled glass vessel, then you can hand lap it with 120 or
220 grit silicon carbide on a piece of glass plate . glass can
take great pressure on its walls but make sure its not chipped .
Try not to use very old glass as it becomes more brittle with
age… Take care WEAR A GOOD FACE SHIELD WHEN YOU FIRST TEST
ANY OF THESE HOMEMADE VACUME VESSELS . Take Care and have fun

Hi, Roy (Jess), Just saw on your last posting that you are from
Knoxville. How long have you been there? I was in grad school at
UT and lived there from 1970-79. Were you there then? Go Vols!

Gini:

I think I remember your work from craft fairs of that era, if not
your face. I came in 1968 from NYC for clinical psychology program
(eggheads!!!), left to Atlanta 1972-74, have been in Knox again
since 1975. Love it sometines for the people and the mountains,
hate the provincialism, etc. At least currently have a good
symphony conductor, a really good weekly paper (Metropulse), and a
great Lady Vols basketball Team. Also, the school my kids have
gone to, Nature’s Way Montessori, couldn’t be much better. i
recently mobved to Halls on Beaver Creek, and found the Friends of
Beaver Creek, so I have some eco- nuts to play with, I hope.
trying to put up ewith Tenncare, which has ruined my profession, do
a little gemcutting, etc. Enjoy your posts.
