I have a 6 inch metal lap that is unmarked and would like to hear how I can determine if it is a lead lap (which most people do not use anymore due to environmental reasons) or perhaps a tin lap. It weighs 5.2 lbs
Calculate the volume, figure out weight per cubic centimetre, look up specific gravity for lead and tin.

Go to Home Depot and buy a lead test kit. They are use to test paints, Porceline and other items. Easier and more effective than the math route. It might be mixed metal product.
