Hello all; After months of reading posts I have found a subject maybe
I can help out on. Regarding the posts on electric hotplates, an
option to the coil consumer type of hotplate is the lab type of
hotplate with a solid ceramic top. I purchased one on e-bay (A
Corning Model 300) for $49.00 recently. I am using it to temper color
steel and copper. For some great items (including Lab Hotplates)
check out a website called LabX. They are the" e-bay "of surplus lab
equipment, much of which can be used for our applications. Not
connected in anyway, just a satisifed user of the site. Rick

Cynthia, Thanks! By the way, I did experience with several hot plates
and found that the Toastmaster one never got quite hot enough. I
have switched to a brand called Broillking that I purchased at the
local Ace hardware. What a difference! The coils get red right away
and stay red.
Happy kum-boo!

Hi All, Please don’t laugh, then again it may be worth a chuckle or
two. I have an electric stove and and I use one of the plates to do
my Kum-Boo. I also have an electric plate which I don’t use any
more. Works well for me. Try it! Louise
