Daniel R. Spirer Jewelers of Cambridge, MA has a temporary
(maternity leave), contract position from approximately August 1st -
December 15, 2006. This is an excellent learning opportunity for a
jeweler who already has excellent bench skills to work with a
successful jeweler who specializes in high end, custom jewelry
designs in a retail setting.
Every piece of jewelry sold at Daniel R. Spirer Jewelers is designed
and made in house. We do in excess of a half million dollars in
sales every year. We have been pioneers in gemstone disclosure in
the retail environment. We run a highly ethics based, designer
oriented, high end store. Our average sale exceeds $1500. We sell
branded diamonds and high quality We work with a highly
diverse, eclectic, sometimes demanding clientele.
We are looking for someone who is highly skilled in the following
bench areas: you must be familiar with all types of repair work; you
must have experience in working with platinum; you must be able to
perform all basic hand construction and hand finishing techniques.
You do NOT need design skills; although it helps to have a good eye
for what looks right.
All employees work with customers so your appearance must be
professional and practical. You will be expected to speak with
customers about gemstone disclosure and our jewelry so
excellent English speaking skills are required. It is critical that
you are open to working with an extremely diverse clientele
(remember gay marriage is legal in Massachusetts).
Contract wage will be commensurate with proven experience and
