Salary: UKP42,791 - UKP49,606 per annum

As Head of Department you will be responsible for ensuring a
challenging and supportive learning experience for all students on
the course through the provision of academic leadership in learning,
teaching and research. You will be expected to manage effectively the
human, financial and physical resources of the department and will be
responsible for overseeing all aspects of the academic content,
planning, management and operation of the course. You will be
expected to make a vital contribution to academic and strategic
development within the institution.

You will be educated to degree level in an appropriate discipline
and preferably to postgraduate level. You will also have substantial
experience of practice, teaching and research in the domain of Design
and an excellent understanding of interdisciplinary Learning and
Teaching in relation to Design.

Management experience within the context of Higher Education is
essential. You should have a recognised international research
profile - demonstrable via publication and/or exhibition outputs.

What a huge coincidence! My daughter has decided this week to apply
for the BA (Hons) Silversmithing and Jewellery course at the GSA
starting next September! It’s a great school apparently and (fingers
crossed she’s accepted) she’s really looking forward to studying
there.
