Part-time bench jeweler just east of Monterey Bay!
Tops A Rock Shop is currently looking for a contract part-time bench
jewelry artist to work a minimum of 2 regular weekend days per
month.
Jewelers bench and limited tools will be provided, you can bring
anything else you need and we’ll provide electrical hook-ups. This is
a great opportunity to moonlight or build a new practice.
The work will require:

Must be able to work primarily with sterling silver, some fine
silver and gold. -
Small repairs on precious metals and costume jewelry

Ring sizing a must.

Set faceted stones and cabochons in prong and bezel settings for
all styles. -
Able to custom design settings, working with customers.

Sample jewelry repairs include: replacing a stone, fixing a chain
/ clasp, resizing a ring, setting faceted or cabochon stones
purchased in the store. Sample design work includes working with
customers to design settings for stones purchased in the store.
Contractor will be paid on a percentage basis with a minimum
guarantee of $100 per month. The store takes 20% commission on all
work generated through the store.
Applicants should forward a resume and pictures of their work in
both sterling and gold. Those granted an interview should be prepared
to bring samples of their work to the interview.
The last jewelry store in San Benito closed with a retirement so
there is currently no bench jeweler in the entire county. This is an
excellent opportunity. TOPS will work to advertise your services and
the times you will be available. There are additional opportunities
available to teach jewelry making classes.
