Jewlery Box Inserts

Hello Members,

I am a potter who has a great desire to make pottery jewelry boxes,
including ring boxes. I would like to create great ways to store and
display beautiful jewelry and rings.

I intend to create individual ring boxes out of porcelain for
exceptional rings. Would like to promote them to jewelers to sell
with an individual rings.

Does anyone have any thoughts on purchasing or making jewelry box
inserts - either a felt covered material (cardboard or wood).

I have searched a fair amount on the net. I also searched the
Ganoksin archive.

I am not sure if this is an appropriate question for the Orchid
forums, but it does seem like jewelers would be able to direct me to
good sources and ideas

Thank you in advance.

Just so happens, Marty in Canada just did a mailing on the subject.
His daughter is a consultant to museums on the issue of display cases
for precious metals. Might search the listings on the website and see
if you can find him, or he may be watching and contact you. The
subject line of the previous post was “Controlling humidity and
tarnishing in showcases” it was posted on March 7, 2006. If he can
put you in contact with her, I could not think of a better source. I
made a display case for my wife, turned out to be a tarnish test bed.
Now I have to go back and make another based on what I learned from
his email.

Good luck to ya!
