Jewelry technology seminar

Jewelry appraisers and those interested in the history of jewelry
might like to know of a full day seminar to be held in New York,
November 2nd 2002. Entitled ‘Dating and authenticating Georgian and
Victorian Jewelry’, the seminar will look at the materials and
construction of 18th - 19th century jewelry, the profound changes in
jewelry production technology in the wake of the Industrial
Revolution, microscopic methods of identifying processes and
construction, and methods of forgery detection.

The seminar has been arranged by the American Society of Jewellery
Historians and will be presented by Dr Jack Ogden.
