Jewelry show at Met raises questions

Jo Haemer, thank you for your input about specialization. Those of us
who are quietly working and studying to make original, one-of-a-kind
pieces can’t really be farming out to gem setters, and all those
other specialists. We just want to create the best work we can. The
joy is in the work, the designing things that show off unique stones,
learning to turn our dreams into wearable pieces. And hoping that
someone will want one of those pieces enough to pay for the materials
and labor so that we can make more.

Noralie Katsu

Noralie, you have perfectly stated how I feel when I sit down at my
bench.
