Jewelry Photography - What about those lenses?

Hi,

After some good luck with process shots like refining and casting,
and finally learning many of the best features like color balancing
etc- I have been experimenting with jewelry photography for product
shots that demonstrate a white gold or palladium jewelry.

So far the Canon D30 has been wonderful. I own the 28-70 kit lens
and the 100 - 300 telephoto. Also a set of 'close up" filters,
really magnifying lenses for the front of the lens.

This gives me a depth of field of a few millimeters. How much more
depth do you get with a good macro tilt lens? I’m sure Canon makes
close equivalents to Nikon, too bad they are not compatible !
