Jewelry books lending library

#1

Thank you all for posting your favorite lessons on metal working,
casting and jewelry making in general. I am new to the field and feel
as if I am getting the lessons I need to progress, from Julia Potts
jumpring lesson, to the wax carving lesson. I do a new one every
day! Thanks. In regards to lesoons I have been reading the posts
regarding education for as I said I am new to the field, coming from
a pottery and art background, and the area in which I live is about 2
hours away from anywhere that has any sort of educational base, so I
thought as I learn maybe I should work with videos, books? I have
read and reread Tim Mccrieghts books, and Jenks Mcgrath. I am looking
to supplement my library any recommendations with actual lesson
formats? Videos. Is there a lending library of sorts for jewelers
videos and books anywhere? If not-again I thank you all for your
lesson posts those are stringing me along!!

thank you for your kindness in sharing.

Hi Marie,

Is there a lending library of sorts for jewelers videos and books
anywhere?

I know that my regional metalsmithing society (Metal Arts Society of
Southern California - MASSC) maintains a video lending library. I
don’t know where you live but chances are there’s a regional society
in your general area and perhaps they offer a similar service. If
you post back with your location, someone will know.

The Florida Society of Goldsmiths has a rental library available to
members. Requested videos and books are mailed to you. Please visit
our website at www.FSG4U.com and look under technical information
for a complete listing. FSG also offers workshops in Florida,
Georgia, and North Carolina. While on our website please see our
new on-line newsletter.

Please see signature for disclaimer, but I would like to thank all
of the hundreds of volunteers that make the organization so great!

In that case, you could probably join the MASSC which I mentioned in
my previous post. Check it out here: http://www.massconline.com .
The site doesn’t mention the video lending library but you could use
the Contact address to find out more.
