[Jewelry Attractions] Pittsburgh/Philadelphia

Hi everyone, I am going to be in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia PA in
the next week with some time to kill and was wondering if anyone
could recommend any good jewelry galleries/boutiques and/or bead/rock
shops in either city?

Thanks in advance and thanks Hanuman for all you do!

Carrie PITTSBURGH (my home town) has a great gem and mineral
collection at the Carnegie Museum in Oakland. There are some custom
jewelry design shops located in the Shadyside area which is about 2
miles from the museum. Downtown the jewelry trade is located in The
Clarke Bldg. about 6 floors of them.

PHILADELPHIA has a nice jewelry district behind Independence Hall
it’s all in one block named Sansom St. Also some great schools to
visit that have Metal work departments. Olaf Scoffers (sp?) was head
of the Jewelry dept. way back then. I graduated Philadelphia College
of Art ’ 76’ now named University of the Arts (I think) and is
located on S. Broad St. near Spruce.

Have fun and report back to us what you come across.
