JAMS [was: International Ring Size Equivalents]

I heard from a friend who had studied at the Revere Academy that
it is quite a good school for learning jewellery design and
crafting. But towards the end of course there are still many
things to learn yet the instructors are quite reluctant to teach,
is this true??

Not in my experience. The instructors I know are very giving.
Sometimes time is short in a workshop setting, but all the ones I
know are real givers and educators. Charles

Hi Tay Thye Sun,

I’m a hobbyist living in the San Francisco area. Last year I
took 3 classes from the Revere Academy. I should mention that I
also have vocational teaching credentials in California. I’m
surprised to hear that a friend of yours felt that the
instructors at Revere were a bit reluctant to teach anything.

My experience with the Revere Academy was fantastic, although a
hobbits, most of the people in my classes were wanting to become
jewelers. The few current jewelers in the class learned new
tricks or techniques. As Alan Revere has mentioned quite a few
times and also in his book, there are a few skills but thousands
of tricks (paraphrased). I would highly recommend the school to
anyone with an open mind of learning from some additional trade
skills.
