JA bench certification - worth it?

I’m not sure if Jessica is the one questioning her skills or if it is
Jo, but Jessica don’t doubt yourself at all. You can easily make it
in a shop judging from your work shown on your website. For me, I was
certified as a bench jeweler technician through JA 10 years ago. If
anything else, it helped to open the door to get a chance to bench
test. I want to test for the second level but the money is not
available now. Unfortunately I burned out in retail repair type
settting 3 years ago. It was not the workload or really even my
ability and I will admit I have plenty to learn no matter how many
years I have earned on the bench. It was the work environment that
sent me reeling. I too want to work in a professional setting. What
holds me back beside the 3 year gap of little bench work is the
bascially rural area we live in.Northeast Texas did not get hit as
deeply by the recession as other areas. The economy just is not
strong enough for a demand of craftsmen. The portfolio idea is a
good one. I wish you all the luck!
