Vanguard is a small studio of two currently. I design, and my
cousin smiths. She’s trying to teach me, but blowtorches and I
just don’t seem to get along. Our designs are at the same time
dramatic and minimalist. She likes wire and light-weight
castings. I gravitate towards agates, opals, sunstone and
included stones. We use a lot of cabs and carvings vs. faceted
gems. We are new to it, but we love what we do. We are here to
learn, experiment and have fun.
