Subject: Introducing: Chris de Beer
I am a lecturer in Jewellery Design and Gemmology at the Technikon
Natal (similar to a Polytechnic) in Durban, South Africa. This
department has a three year program during which we concentrate on
basic handworking skills(trade skills), mass production (lost wax
casting) and various other more creative techniques such as
enamelling, refractory metals, sand casting and glass work.
Personally I am interested in enamelling, etching and creative
applications of mass production casting.
