Inlaying silver wire into ebony

There is a very simple way to do it. Purchase a small tap and die
set (Reactive Metals has them, though I’m sure that they can be
found elsewhere), and use it to turn your wire into a screw. Drill
the hole in the ebony slightly smaller than the wire diameter and
then thread both parts. You then screw your wire in place and file
the top off flush. This can also be done by threading the outside of
a piece of tubing, rather than wire, which will give you a slightly
different look. Susan
