I should have checked out current prices

Hello Group:

I purchased a sheet of copper last week. It mics at.021 and measures
3 feet by 8 feet. I paid $ 40 USD.

Was I foolish going with my emotions or should I have checked out
current prices.

Thanks,
“M”

Marc; If you need the material why worry about 40 bucks it’s really
not that much for that big a sheet and even if copper prices crashed
what would you save 10 or 15 dollars. I wouldn’t stress on it too
much. Dave

.021 copper is about 16oz/square foot, so you have approx 24 lbs of
copper. The current price of copper is $ 3 - 3.5 USD so I think you
got a real good deal

Like gold and silver, the price of copper has been fluctuating
lately. Last week the spot price for copper was about $3.20 per
pound. My local industrial supplier so far has been fairly steady,
selling fabricated copper sheet in a variety of gauges in 3 x 4 feet
sheets to hobbiests and crafts persons like me for about $7.25 per
lb, with a set up fee of $8.00 to cut it to smaller specs on their
large shear. Just weigh your sheet and compare with that.
