Hydroflux welder

First post, so hope I am doing this correctly. I have a new
hydroflux welder and have become quite good at melting my jewelry.
As I would like, instead, to make my silver hard solder “run” and
join silver to silver I realize I am doing something very wrong; my
$40 torch worked fine, just made for too much firescale, so I
thought this unit with it’s small tips would lessen that firescale
problem. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you. Pat

Pat, I have been using my hydroflux for several years now & would
make only one suggestion : Keep it moving. Other than that there are
some size limitations on what you can do, particularly in silver (do
to it’s high heat conductivity). But in general like everything else
there is a learning curve. The higher heat makes that curve
sometimes more painful. But I would NOT go back to anything else!

How is the approval rating for the use of a hydroflux welder? Paul

Paul, I’m happy with mine. You’ll still need another torch for big
jobs. John Flynn
