Please do a search for “Tibetan Gypsy Spiral Hoops”… does anyone
know how to make these? I can not wear anything but titanium thru my
ears, but would like to make these in sterling & somehow add the
titanium wire. Will try to post a pic below.

Hi Trish, To me that look likes anticlastic raising of a spiculum on
the end of that spiral, similar to the great Michael Goods work. The
fact that it’s hollow on the end helps keep it light. Here is a link
to Beth Wickers video of him using the technique when making a
bracelet. The rest of the earring is just coiled wire.

Trish- You cannot solder silver to titanium. Maybe with a PUK, but I
really doubt it. If you have allergy issues use platinum for your ear
wires soldered to the silver. I’m not really very allergic, but I can
only wear silver ear wires for about 6 hours before they start to
irritate me.

Have you tried wearing titanium earring posts. They may not react
with you.

If you like the look of the earrings try making them in glass. I’ve
seen them done and they are lovely.
