How Can I Help the Ganoksin Project?

Greetings;

The Ganoksin Project goal is to build a strong pool of
freely accessible, for the benefit of the trade and the general
public. If you benefited from our services and agree with our
mission here’s what you can do to be part of our project.

  1. Make a small donation
    http://www.ganoksin.com/donate/index.htm

For every $ 35 you donate to Ganoksin we are offering one entry in
the Rio Grande $ 10,000 Gift Certificate Prizes Giveaway
http://www.ganoksin.com/gnkurl/donate

The idea of requesting donations is to ensure the continued
existence and prosperity of the Orchid community and The Ganoksin
website. It is important that the group pay its own way if it is to
be healthy. Remember: The Ganoksin Project does not need to be
wealthy, just “healthy”

Even if you choose not to support the list financially, you are still
welcome to use and enjoy this list. Although the on this
list is free, as is the access to it through the Archives, the
support system which makes this community possible is not free. It
costs money. Please consider supporting us with your kind donation.

  1. Purchase our eBooks
    http://www.ganoksin.com/gnkurl/ep80l3

43 complete rare antique metalsmithing books have been scanned and
published as searchable pdfs. These books are technical marvels, full
of forgotten no longer available. They date from 1871 to
1926 with over 5000 pages crammed with detail.

This project brings jewelry history alive, gives voice again to
forgotten authors, their opinions and technical secrets. There are
literally thousands of recipes, alloys and processes described in the
books, as well as books on gemology and silversmithing masterpieces.
Each book has a full review and description written by Charles
Lewton-Brain available on the Ganoksin site. There are more books
that will be added.

These books cover special techniques in depth like chasing, repousee,
engraving, niello making, Japanese chiseling, soldering,
construction, patination, metal coloring, silversmithing and more.
Many of the tricks and recipes described will save the maker money,
as older approaches can sometimes replace modern tools.

Unlike most ebooks the Ganoksin pdf is a full digital book of
searchable text and images, with easy access through an interactive
table of contents. Most images are scanned at high resolution and
then embedded in the text allowing them to be magnified and stay
readable. The books are available for $5.00 each with the funds going
to support the cost of the project and Ganoksin ongoing costs.

We are giving away special door prizes to customers purchasing
eBooks collections
