Homemade Solder?

Help, anyone! I’m in the middle of a job and I just realized
that I don’t have any 14k white gold, hard solder, just easy. Is
there a way of “making” hard solder from easy, perhaps by adding
additional 14kw gold, and if so any suggestions on the relative
amounts? I know that for retipping by the ‘fusion’ method you use
2 parts gold to 1 part solder, but I doubt that I would have to
go that high on the gold content. Any help, thoughts would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

try melting a little of the easy with some of the 14kt white
gold scrap- I’ve done this with silver. that will make the
melting point be between the two- Anne Stickney
