The articulating stands are awesome, and expensive. I couldn’t
justify the expense. I looked into making one myself, similar to what
you are doing. My wife works in the technology field and suggested I
look at the articulating arms for holding computer monitors. They
come in different styles ranging from models that attach to the edge
of a desk to arms you fasten to a wall. I bought mine from CDW, on
the net, for less than $50. I cut off the end that holds the monitor
and modified it to hold the scope. It works fine for me.
