Historical jewelry book!

My amazing book arrived from Sweden! It’s not as big as I recall
(what is), but all that marvelous illustration is there. I think.
You see, it’s in such good condition that almost all of the pages
are still uncut! That means I can read freely only every eighth
one. It’s in such pristine condition I feel like a vandal at the
thought of cutting the pages, but I’ve waited decades for this.
Tonight I’ll just think about it.

But - the lovely pictures of the garnet work are there. (In black
and white - steel engravings, I think.) I was thinking about the
source of garnets for this historical style, and remembered that
Bohemia is famous for its Victorian garnet jewelry. Maybe that’s
the center of radiation.

Tas - who’s delighted with her book. Thank you all!
