High sheen pewter polish

I have started using sheet pewter along with other metals in mixed
metal jewelry. I am having trouble getting a high sheen. Red rouge
sort of gums up on the surface, have tried impregnated 3m buffing
wheels, a little better. Any suggeations?

Pewter works better with a brushed finish. A high shine will scratch
almost immediately. Honor the metal and make it look good for the
long run.

I’m not a pewter expert, but simple 0000 steel wool has worked for
me when polishing tarnished pieces.
