I’m pretty sure this thread is now obsolete or no longer monitored, but what a wonderful discovery for me as I recently posted a query in the forum asking people what type of torch a goldsmith was using. Precisely the torch described here; a bellow foot operated fueled by gasoline. Anyways, long story short, I purchased one through Alibaba, for just over $100 Cdn including shipping. I am looking forward to the torch’s arrival so I can give it a try. I have tried every single iteration of torch, Oxy-Propane, Oxy-Acetylene, Propane/Air, Acetylene/Air, Butane, Hydrogen and none fit my requirements for use in the home or don’t require large tanks, but can melt at least an ounce of gold or silver. I’m excited to hear that white gas will work with the torch. I was going to give Methanol a try because I already use that with the HOO torch, Does anyone know if Methanol will work with the torch? I’d rather not use automotive gas, especially if I’m going to use it in the house. Thanks!
