I would like to learn about what type of software you are running and
what type of cam programs you are using. Your Adobe program
generally operate on a mac platform and your DFX files are an Autocad
language. I recently ran into a problem with a mac program and a DOS
cam machine. The problem was that the DOS machine could not open the
long file names that most mac operators use when saving their files.
When I converted all of the mac file names to an eight chacter name
followed by a .dfx extension, the DOS machine opened them and ran
them. Corel and Autodesk will automatically convert your name to
comply with DOS rules. Other programers will leave this to your own
solutions. There are just too many DOS equipment still on the market
and you have a big disavantage if you know nothing about
DOS.
