I was very fortunate to receive a $1,000 arts grant today to study figurative wax carving with Kate Wolf. How many of you have received these kinds of grants? What worked; what didn’t? I’m hoping to eventually do a story about this, and blog about this for Lapidary Journal.
I do have a lot of writing experience, including lots of engineering projects in response to requests for proposals from cities and counties.

I’m beginning to think this was beginners luck. There seem to be very few professional development grants out there for individual artists/jewelers in Michigan. Like one. I’ll eventually post something on the blog I do for Lapidary Journal. Must have done 10 hours of research yesterday. I did see a lot of grants for artists in major cities. Course there is Halstead Bead and one other major grant.
