On the Metalwerx front, we have been so sucessful in our first year of
operation, that we have busted out of our little 450 sq ft place and are
in negotations to obtain a 1720 sq ft space right across the street.
As we were looking for space, we had these criteria. It had to be in
Woburn, it must have parking, the rent should be affordable and have lots
of windows. Two weeks ago on a whim, we walked upstairs of a building
which had been on the rental market for awhile. It used to be a jewelry
manufacturing studio! The ventilation was in place, a large sink with hot
and cold water, an office, two bathrooms, all the electricity in place with
even a 220 hookup, and there are windows galore Jennifer and I whooped!
We have four people who are committed to renting full time bench space from
us and our little community is growing by leaps and bounds. We even have
enough space for a library/lounge and a real gallery!
I’ll keep you all posted when we actually sign the lease, but things are
looking good.
Thank you all for your good vibes over the past year. I have met some of
you at MJSA and at SNAG and your support has been warming and welcoming.
