Does anyone have a good wholesale supplier of Gibson Opal? I
heard that Gibson was bought out, and I was wondering who bought
them out, who is the main distributor, and what the price range
of Gibson is. I read that the COE of Gibson is similar to that
of pyrex and I want to experiment with encasing a faceted stone
in a pyrex glass bead…

Anybody done that yet?

They will have some of this material–incuding a B grade which
just isn’t totally perfect. I have bought some from them. The
opal process was sold to a Japanese Co. I thought Kyocera but this
probably is not the right Co. Jesse
