Gerry Lewy's Free Gem Setting Essays

I’ve always been respectful of setting or being honest just scared  would it be possible to have your essay to try to fix this? muchas gracias Marta

Marta
I’d figure I’d answer this email on the ‘open’ channel. What is to be ‘scared of’ in learning how to set stones?
I, just this afternoon teach a fellow “how to set stones in wax”. In about 4 hours he almost mastered this simple process. He was ‘all dithers’ when I started the private class, Now he has enough courage to practice all on his own.
Marta, the same with you, after reading a few of my essays, you too, will have enough self-confidence to go on your own. I always tell my students…“leave the lack of self-confidence outside of this room!” We are here on Orchid, to build confidence!!!..Gerry!

Marta, at my last calculations, I now have 1.185 Gig’s of setting
information. These are now in so many attachments they have to be split &
‘zip-filed’ into 3 separate emails, 7 attachments and now 149 files…OUCH &
OY!

I’m getting enquiries for my essays now on a continual basis! The folks
are asking me is it too late to get them? My ‘personalized answer’ is
"it’s never too late (age) to learn about setting". Applications might
change with the newer tools coming into the market. But again, the basic
process of setting diamonds & gemstones ARE THE SAME!!!
Please don’t be intimidated with someone else’s fantastic results here on
our Orchid. After careful scrutiny, every setting process ARE THE SAME.
My ‘setting notes’ will definitely guide you, I’ve now prepared another
folder just to fill in any ‘gaps in my notes’, that too, will be be going
out shortly!

Hi gang of many & everywhere!
I’ve been getting requests for my 912.43 mg’s of setting techniques. One
Orchid reader just asked me will he have any problem reading or even
understanding my instructions? Let me just say at the onset, my essays were
written so a basic-level jeweller or hobbyist or an advanced setter and
professional jeweller can put my techniques to work. "It’s not what I
write, but it’s how I write on that topic!"
There will be no guessing when you read my multitude of topics. In the
next few weeks, I’m going to be writing more as I have 18 more topics to
write & supplying photographs for Ganoksin.
One of my attachments has 18 diagrams to follow through, this is for
Princess setting, Gypsy/Flush setting, Bezel settings & 4-Prong/Claw
engagement setting. Nothing is left for you to guess what to do. You want
details, I’ll be giving you many details…regards to all!

Hi Gerry,
As I am relatively new to setting, I was hesitant to request your notes. You have pointed out that they would be easy to follow, so I humbly ask that I might be a recipient. I would be most grateful.
Many thanks in advance,
