Hello All There have again been a number of postings about the naming
of gemstones that are often misleading. This is an attempt, often, to
mislead people into paying more than what the stone would otherwise
command. About a year ago I posted a list that I myself had been
collecting of these names and the real stone they represented. This
is an ongoing project.
I have noted some more from recent posts on the subject of
'semiprecious gem id'. I would request that anyone that knows of gems
that have unusual and often misleading names, and knows what the
stones really are, could email me this so I could update
my list. I would then be very glad to post it to the community for
your own knowledge. Many people last time had asked that I
periodically let them know so this would also accomplish this
