If the refractive index of the green stones in the earrings is in the 1.64-1.68 range, the material could be acid bleached, dyed and polymer filled jadeite jade. Polymer treated and/or dyed jadeite jade is also known as:
“B” jade
“C” jade “B + C” jade
There is a significant amount of this treated jade on the market and you can find it for less than a couple hundred dollars. It is the untreated jadeite jade that can sell for tens of thousands of dollars but to confirm that jadeite jade is untreated, advance testing is required. It’s easier to determine that a stone is treated.
