(Fwd) what is a group of jewelers?

Susan-

In response to your rhetorical question, “What the hell is a
group of jewelers?,” I must say that the answer to your question
is just plain SCARY. Especially jewelers with high-power
computers and modems that go faster than a yugo.

There’s an idea for a thread!! Jeweler Humor!!

Bob,

Boy, you got that right - scary is indeed the word for it!

Maybe if we work on this, we could take this act on the road. You know, do
conventions and such… What jeweler would turn down free visibility? (bg)

PRESENTING

The Karet Kut-ups!!!

Come see the sparkling wit and repartee of these world famous multi-faceted
performers! Watch in awe as they do their breathtaking 18gauge wire act, wax
ecstatic as they cast themselves into their performances! Gauge for
yourselves how well-drilled they are as they wield a flexshaft at 32,000rpm!
Catch the patented wax gun sharpshooting! Model yourselves after these gems!
All while maintaining a fast-moving constant pattern of humor and EXTREMELY
bad word-play! Polish your own skills and don’t miss a sterling performance!

Speaking of visibility, Dr. Aspler (LOVED your “crytal Balling!”) what
about the idea of having a gallery of Orchid Mailing List jewelry art? I’m
sure all of us could manage to e-mail in a scan to put up on a page. Just
what you need is more work. I sure would love to see what everyone is
making out there with their wax guns etc…Dave

At the risk of overextending Dr. Aspler, I heartily second the motion. I
would love to see some of the work from some of the people who don’t have a
web page (I’m working on one now, hope to have it up and running sometime
before the end of the month).

OK, what did the jeweler get on his/her IQ Test ? Saliva (of course).

That may be true, but, like lapidaries, jewelers do it with polish.

Susan, I just can’t stop myself from getting into this. As for your
question about what do you call a group of jewelers, it’s hard to beat Dave
S.'s “mellee” and Bob Jones’s “Scary.”

But a group of high-class jewelers, as most of us are, would properly be
called a “parure” of jewelers – no, look it up for yourselves.

After a show, however, the group usually breaks away from the “parure” into
“doublets” and “triplets” for the evening pub-crawl, as they get pleasantly
“doubly-refracted.”

Remember, you started this.
