Fuel question

Hi I would like to know what kind of fuel would be recommended for the
bellow torch and the alcohol lamp. I have used regular gasoline for
the bellow torch but the fumes smells horribly, Like old truck. I used
isopropil alcohol for the alcohol lamp but it doesn’t work. Any advice
would be appreciated. Marco

Hi Marco, If it’s available, try white gasoline or fuel for gasoline
(Coleman, brand name)lanterns. The smell won’t be as bad as
automotive gas, but there’ll still be some smell. The heat content is
also great enough for soldering.

Hi, I’d suggest you try denatured alcohol in your lamp. Drug stores
usually carry it. (It’s the stuff in Sterno that caterers use to
keep food warm.) Don’t know about the bellows torch, sorry.

Regards, Laurie

I always use denatured alcohol for my alcohol lamps with no problems.
It should be available at most hardware stores in small and large
cans.
