Frosted finish - Other problems

I have been following the posts on frosted finishes with interest
because I don’t really like the high polish on my designs,
especially gold. I have been using various stiffnesses of 3-m satin
wheels but have never been completely happy with the finish. It
seems to leave a yellowish, warm tone on the silver. On the gold
the coloration of course is less noticeable. Anyone else experience
this coloration problem? Another area of caution is that the 3-m
wheels can very quickly remove detail from the design. Also, I
have found that pieces with a satin or frosted finish that have been
laying around for a while and are tarnished are very hard to clean
with the standard methods of removing tarnish i.e. polishing cloths
or mild silver cleaners such as Haggerty’s. Any suggestions for a
better way to clean pieces with a frosted finish would be
appreciated. Thank you. Grace @tom_grace_stokes

Have you tried the SpeedBrite ionic cleaner? Or how about the tried
& true glass dish of warm water, baking soda & piece of aluminum
foil. The silver item should be completly submerged & in contact
with the aluminum foil.
