This is no a life-threatening issue, but thank you, Peter, for using
the technically correct term for this stuff. Iron may be “meteoric”
if it hasn’t hit the ground yet. When it does, it’s “meteoritic.”
I published an article, “Meteors and Meteorites in the Ancient Near
East,” in 1973 and if an editor hadn’t caught it, I would have
used the wrong term throughout.
