Foredom quick change hand piece will not release bit?

My quick release handpiece is working, however I can’t seem to get it to release the bit I have in it. I was using it just fine but when I went to change it, it is firmly in place and will not budge? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Quick, let a few drops of “light-viscosity oil” into where the bur-shaft is
sitting. Let it settle, this might help you…Don’t force the bur out!!! Let
it work itself loose overnight!!!..Next time lubricate your quick-release
handle often…Gerry!

Ah, thank you Gerry! I did that and let it sit for a few hours and then went back and it released. I will clean and oil it tomorrow. Thank you very much for your response. Much appreciated!

Move the lever to where it is supposed
to be to allow the bit to be removed,
push the bur in, and then remove it.

Try using graphite instead of oil, oil has a tendency to cake up… also try removing the bur more often rather than just leaving it in there all the time… think of it as occasionally putting on the AC in your car during the winter, so that the seals don’t dry up and fail and could cost you $$$ to fix…when you really need it.
