Following up initial sale inquiry

hello all–

I don’t know how my timing could be worse for starting a “jewelry
business”, but here I am, moving forward because stasis is just not
an option now. I’ve done a really nice job putting together packets,
inquiry letters etc. and sent my stuff out, both online
and via snail mail. what does one entering this world need to know
about how and when to follow up the initial inquiry?-you know, I
don’t want to be pushy; I’ve heard from a few that they would be
interested in placing an order, but haven’t yet; and others that I
just haven’t heard anything from (which I’m guessing is more common
than not). any tips for a newcomer in the business?
