Foam core hard walls booth

Hi all,

I will be doing a wholesale trade show this jan that has white foam
core hard walls that come standard with the booth. I don’t want the
white-- any suggestions on a kind of a paint to use on foam core- or
not to use for that matter. Or any suggestions on how to otherwise
personalize it without covering it in fabric? I like the hardwall
appearance, I just don’t want the white- too glaring- too bright…
My colors are chocolate brown and pink, and I think the white would
look funny with that color combo.

Thanks for your help!

I’m not sure about the composition of your foam core but when I was
an art student several years ago we had to do an enlargement project
in blue foam core used for building insulation. Spary paint (the
easyiest method) would eat holes in the foam core. It had to be
sealed before painting with artist’s Gesso. Whatever you use, do a
little test somewhere that won’t be too visible.

What about similar colours to your website? You have the chocolate
brown and is it a really pale pink? You could use a sort of warmed up
ivory colour with chocolate and pink accents.

that’s exactly what I was planning! I hate to be that obvious,
but oh well!

I’m still curious as to how to transform the foam core into those
colors. Anyone ever paint foam core with good results?

I believe you said the foam core walls are supplied by the venue. If
that is the case, ask them. They will know what kind of paint to use
on their walls!
