Finishing frustrations

I started jewelry business in Indonesia. Recently, my production
rate is about 400 pieces a day. It is impossible for me to polish
them one by one. Therefore, I need help for:

  1. How to get homogeneous color outside and inside the ring
    (specially inside the prong).

  2. Good mass finishing system.

  3. The best and the cheapest chemical coloring.

This time, I=92ve used the following finishing system:

  1. Filing

  2. Bombing

  3. Vibrator (with stainless steel shot).

  4. Polishing

Dear Peter, I wouldn’t say impossible… I am handling a much
greater daily production rates with an average labor costs of
0.03-0.10 $ per piece. I am located in Thailand and as far as I
know your costs should be even cheaper…:slight_smile:

I don’t believe in mass polishing systems, It just never comes
out as a proper as hand polishing. Cheap labor is what we are
using… The standard salaries in Thailand for polishers are
between 180$ - 240 $ /month. I guess that labor in Indonesia is
still much cheaper.

Why don’t you make a trip to Thailand to see the setup we are
using?
