Fine and sterling silver mordants

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has input on mordants? I prefer less
intense ones along the line of ferric chloride rather than nitric,
if possible. Does ferric chloride work on sterling, or only copper?

Ferric Chloride doesn’t work with silver. But Ferric Nitrate does.
It’s the preferred acid mordant for silvers, so far as I know.
